This American-Flag Fruit Pizza is a delightful and easy-to-make patriotic dessert, perfect for Fourth of July celebrations or any summer gathering. It features a soft sugar cookie crust topped with a creamy frosting and fresh berries arranged to resemble the American flag.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (16.5 ounce) package refrigerated sugar cookie dough
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 ounces whipped topping (like Cool Whip)
  • 1 pint fresh blueberries
  • 2 pints fresh raspberries or sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Press the sugar cookie dough into an ungreased 12-inch pizza pan, forming an even crust.
  3. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.
  4. Remove from oven and let the cookie crust cool completely on a wire rack.
  5. While the crust cools, prepare the frosting: In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  6. Gently fold in the whipped topping until fully combined.
  7. Once the cookie crust is completely cool, spread the cream cheese frosting evenly over the top.
  8. Arrange the blueberries in the upper left corner of the pizza to form the “star” section of the flag.
  9. Arrange the raspberries (or sliced strawberries) in rows to create the “stripes” of the flag. Alternate with rows of the white frosting showing through to mimic the red and white stripes.
  10. Chill the fruit pizza for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the frosting to set and the flavors to meld.
  11. Slice and serve.

Notes

  • Ensure the cookie crust is completely cool before adding the frosting, otherwise, the frosting will melt.
  • You can use other red fruits like sliced cherries or red currants if desired.
  • For a richer flavor, you can make your own sugar cookie dough from scratch.
  • Leftovers should be stored in the refrigerator.
  • This dessert is best enjoyed within 1-2 days.
